How To Take A Vacation You Will Never Forget (And Maybe Turn It Into A Living)

Ever dreamed of living on the open road? For most people, a vacation is their only option when it comes to spending time on the road, but there are many people that hit the road and realize they love it so much that they end up staying on the road. If You Want To Live On The Road…

You’re not going to want to live in a car, and even a van can get cramped after a while. If you really want to take a luxury road trip you’re going to want to invest in a motorhome. Motorhomes aren’t a cheap investment, but you can look into getting a loan to purchase one. The size you want will depend on how many people will be traveling with you.

Then you need to consider what life is like living on the road. You can plan that initial vacation time, maybe during the summer while the kids are out of school and you have vacation time for your job. But once you feel that freedom of the open road you’re going to start pondering what you can do to make it last.

You Can’t Drive All The Time

Even when you take a road trip in a motorhome you’ll be spending some money to rent a spot at a park or campground. The bonus of this is that if you keep traveling through warmer climates you’ll be able to find rental spaces all year long. That means that you don’t have to park it in a driveway, ever, if you don’t want to.

How You’ll Afford It (And Keep The Kids Educated)

But you will need to have money to put in your gas tank, and motorhomes aren’t exactly great when it comes to fuel economy. So, if vacation is nearing its end and you want to stick with your life on the road you need to start off by figuring out how you’ll make money.

If you’re lucky you just might already have a job that allows you to work remotely, which means that anywhere you can get wifi you can work. Consider getting into this type of career before you even hit the road so you can have an established income. Motorhomes can have the same issues as other vehicles as well, so make sure you have some savings to cover any repairs.

As far as the kids go, consider homeschooling. Homeschooling on the road is possible, and it allows your children a much broader learning environment. You just need to make sure to take the time to learn about what requirements need to be fulfilled for their schooling to count towards an actual diploma.
