Name: H. P. Srushti

Age: 17

Highest weight recorded: 74 kilos

Weight lost: 30 kilos

Duration it took me to lose weight: 9 months

The turning point: I felt bad every time I had to buy clothes double my age because nothing would fit me. It actually got to me when I was in class 10 and I couldn’t see myself like this. My weight gain curbed my self-confidence and I hardly socialized. I realized that I had to change myself.

My breakfast: Having something light and filling like upma, vermicelli or poha is essential. I like to have one piece of date with milk in the mornings with my regular breakfast.

My lunch: I always have a full lunch with chapati and vegetables, along with curd.

My dinner: It’s usually the same as my lunch. I don’t like to skip meals.

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): I have a sweet tooth and have always loved having desserts, chocolates but have restricted myself now. Still, on days, I like to have a bite of my favourite desserts.

My workout: I don’t prefer the gym. My workout routine is a mix of running, brisk walking and skipping.

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Sprouts salad is one of my favourites and it is also so healthy!

Fitness secrets I unveiled: For me, the most essential lesson has been to eat in moderation and burn what I consume. This keeps me going.
