  1. Love those kinda photos.

  2. A time warp, I see dead people. Excellent execution.

  3. These are simply stunning. Does anyone know who the photographer/artist is for these?

  4. Mildly Disappointed

I don’t know, I see what the artist is trying to do and it is indeed well executed, but too much is going on. Personally I would have liked to see the Paris of 1940 by itself and a picture of Paris today. Combining the two is too much in my opinion.

  5. Hitler’s army destr@yed so many beautiful cities in Europe, fortunately, Paris was not.

  6. Hmm. Paris’ streets sure are wide. That German army just marched right through there. I guess France surrendering the moment they saw the Germans didn’t help though

  7. The French were so discouraged by the cor@uption of their own government prior to WWII, that they didn’t feel it was worth fi@hting to save it, hence their refusal to fi@ht when the Germans invaded.

The French government coll@psed, and the people thought that whatever the Germans had for government had to be better than the cor@upt government they had before. Of course they were wrong, but it was lack of respect for their own government, not cow@rdice, that caused the prompt French surrender.

  8. There’s a certain eeriness about some of these pictures. The one with Hitler is a good example. What would the present day people in the photo think about just being a few feet away from where Hitler stood. This would make a great Stephan King novel.

  9. Why are the streets of Paris lined with trees?????
Because Germans like to march in the shade!
But no these pictures are really interesting. I hope to one day visit Paris.

  10. Beautiful and provocative work. A good time for people to reflect on world history.

  11. I love these. They all have this eeriness to them.

  12. Indeed; who took the time to put these photos together? Having been in Paris several years ago, I had the same sensations of “history”, knowing HItler and the Germans were there, and reading plaques memorializing those who sacrificed their lives in the Resistance. Provocative photos for sure…

  13. Well done. Combining the two really hits it home.

  14. The photographer is Sergey Larenkov.
